Childrens Furniture; Essential Component In Bedroom Design
Posted by: prettyone in ChildrenParenting is never easy, it is however part of life, and should be enjoyed rather than endured. A part of most childrens lives will be designing their own room. Naturally infants will have no say in the design of their room but from around the age of six it is an ideal time to give the child some input into the colour scheme, furniture and decor for their own bedroom. With such an array of choices out there however it is difficult to find the perfect theme, hopefully the following article will give parents a few design ideas on colours, furniture and other items.
Some children will be especially fond of cowboys and the Wild West. This is a brilliant theme as it allows for some truly unique design ideas. Furniture can be aged and, aesthetic nails and grain can be added to wardrobes and cupboards. Along with this aged furniture taking childrens pictures and framing them as a wanted poster is also a nice touch. The options are literally endless, putting wagon wheels (not the chocolate biscuit) on the wall and maybe even saloon doors onto the cupboards. In terms of colour schemes browns and dusty colours are ideal while a mural of a cactus can be an awesome addition.
This is defiantly one for the girls; a fairytale room can be an ideal place for the child to get away from it all. Colours for young girls should always be shades of pink, especially when following this theme. In terms of furniture, adding lavish backboards to dressers and chests of drawers can look great, as can stars painted onto the ceiling. The bed is extremely important in this fairytale paradise, drapes hanging from a central point on the ceiling can be ideal for creating a sense of magic and luxury.
Not all bedroom themes have to be so gender orientated, involving childrens opinions can be helpful but if they are undecided this next theme is ideal. A crayon box theme is so simple and is an excellent way of bringing colour into a room. Furniture in the childrens bedroom can be easily converted with some paint and an artistic flair. Remember that with this theme colour is king so paint the furniture items in colours that correspond with the walls. In most cases kids will love the bright and colourful space; some research even shows that stimulation like this can aid development.
A final great idea for a childrens bedroom is an under the sea theme. This is a great way to stimulate interest in nature and marine life. In terms of furniture a boat bed could be installed or a wardrobe could be painted up like a lighthouse. The wall decoration can also be extremely fun, painting the walls blue with starfish, sharks, dolphins, literally whatever enters your mid while painting; for the truly spectacular effect however, using seabed coloured carpet with a border around the room can truly make the effect magical.
It is hoped that this information has given some idea of the kinds of themes that will look great in childrens bedrooms. Some of these designs will enrich the child’s life immeasurably, creating a space that allows their imagination to run riot. Ultimately as a parent it is important to design a room that the child will enjoy, allowing them to grow and develop in time.
