There are several wonderful features that video games offer the youth of today that are often times completely overlooked by adults, who often feel that these games are simply a waste of time for children that would be better off focusing there spare time on more constructive activities.

Video games offer several unique features that provide young people the chance to increase their learning abilities while stimulating their minds. The younger generation are constantly feeling the demands and requirements that the school place on them. However, they often use video games as a way to release the pressures that these high demands require from them, which makes video games an excellent teaching tool. These technologically advanced video games create an environment where gaming can be fun, exciting, as well as educational while optimizing components in learning.

Previous studies that have been published that clearly show how violent video games that children play can affect them in a negative manner. In fact, since the turn of the new millennium there have been several studies completed on this issue and the results have all been the same as shown in such issues as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

There are hundreds of video games on the market today and more are being released onto the market every day. The only problem with these video games is figuring out what games should be played by your children.

Personally I have always had a fascination with ants, and although I have never owned an ant kit, I have longed for one for many years! I am most envious therefore, of those children whose parents have purchased one of these kits.

In case you haven’t come across an ant kit, it is basically two tall pieces of transparent plastic fixed together so that they are very close, but not quite touching, and then sealed all round the edges. This stands vertically upright, and is filled with soil, sand or other compound provided. Ants are then inserted or released into this set up, and are then able to make it their home. As long as plenty of water and suitable food is provided, they will survive perfectly well, and prove to be a fascinating world to observe.

What is it that girls’ dolls and boys’ figurines have in common? Admittedly they both have heads, arms and legs, and look vaguely but not entirely human. Girls’ dolls tend to be about a foot in height at least, whereas most boys’ figurines are around six inches tall. There doesn’t appear to be any particular reason for this height discrepancy apart from the physical requirements that girls’ dolls have, in that they tend to wee, whereas boys’ toys tend to carry guns, which can be made in miniature as they tend not to work, requiring the boy in question to supply the necessary sound effects and explosive consequences.
