The following group games for children are planned primarily for the use of teachers and game leaders. It has been my experience that many of the games described in various books do not meet with universal approval on the part of children because the end and aim are not what they desire.

I have, accordingly, taken the liberty of changing the plan of many familiar games to suit the psychological reaction of the child, and they therefore appear in this book in a slightly altered form from that presented elsewhere; this does not mean that they are, in any sense, original as a whole.

The training of the physical coordinations of children is most naturally accomlished through the medium of games. It should be fully appreciated by teachers and parents that the playing of these games is not “mere play,” but definite training of the best kind. In many cases there is little else to be done.

The teacher should select such games as are most interesting to her special group and practice these until the children are reasonably proficient in them or until they prove uninteresting.

Party games can make or break a party and below are some great ideas for children’s parties to keep the children entertained!

Blind Man’s Buff: “Blind Man’s Buff” is one of the best, oldest, and simplest of games. One player is blindfolded, is turned round two or three times to confuse his ideas as to his position in the room, and is then told to catch whom he can. If he catches some one, yet cannot tell who it is, he must go on again as blind man; but if he can tell who it is, that person is blindfolded instead.

Games can make a party a lot more exciting and fun and following is a list of unusual but fun games for a party:

Game of the Five Senses:
All the guests are seated around a large table, and the master or mistress of ceremonies informs them that their five senses are to be tested and prizes given to those who can prove theirs to be the keenest.

First comes the test of sight or observation. All are blindfolded, and a number of articles are thrown haphazard upon the table, gloves, handkerchiefs; anything and everything will serve the purpose. The bandages are then to be lifted for only a moment, after which the order is given to pull them over the eyes again.
